About Dr. Tran:
Deanna Tran, PharmD, BCACP is an assistant professor of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and subsequently completed a PGY-1 community pharmacy residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and Martin’s Pharmacy.
She currently serves as Co-Director of the Pharmacy Practice Laboratories and co-advisor of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) student chapter.
She currently practices at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health – Family Health and Wellness at Cheverly’s Inter-professional Care Transition Clinic. She previously served as the Clinical Programs Consultant for the Landover division of Giant Pharmacy, serving 158 pharmacies in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. She assists in the development and implementation of Giant Pharmacy’s patient care services including medication therapy management, travel health clinics, and outreach programs including chronic disease management classes. She was also a faculty clinical specialist at the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Anti-thrombosis Center.
Her focuses are: point-of-care testing, travel-health, immunizations, and community pharmacy activities in the pharmacy curriculum. Tran is active in a number of professional pharmacy organizations including the American Pharmacists Association, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and Maryland Pharmacists Association.
